Apple releases a new firmware for the AirPods second-generation: here's how to upgrade

A week after releasing a new firmware update for AirPods Pro, Apple has released the same firmware for the AirPods second generation, updating from version 2A364 to 2D15.

Apple has not clarified the news of the updated firmware at this time and the owners of AirPods Pro have had mixed reactions to the update, with some that have said that has improved the active noise cancellation while others do not.

The procedure is completely automatic and wireless: all one needs to do is to slip the AirPods in the housing and put the housing in the charging. To force the update, however, you can disconnect the AirPods from your iPhone and re-pairing. If you have little battery, be sure to also charge the iPhone. At the end you can check the version of firmware present on the AirPods using the instructions below.

The firmware updates for the AirPods Pro often include performance improvements, bug fixes and changes to functionality, but we may not find out the news because Apple does not provide any kind of release notes for the updates of the earphones. At the moment there is no update for the AirPods standard.
