Apple is thinking of creating a FLAT stick similar to Chromecast
According to The Information, Apple is reportedly working on a TV stick to compete with Chromecast and the Amazon Fire TV Stick. The device may be fundamental for the promotion of new original content made by Apple.
Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV Stick are undoubtedly the most popular accessories that transform any tv with an HDMI port into a smart TV. Currently the Amazon product is discount online, due to promotions reserved for Black Friday. Given the affordable cost of these products, undoubtedly represent a way accessible to change the way in which we look at the television.
Apple in this field has the Apple TV, a device with very similar characteristics, but at the same time very different from the competitors. First of all, the Apple TV costs from 150 to 200€ (list price), which is considerably higher than the price of a Chromecast (about 40€). At the same time, the Apple TV is more cumbersome, because it is not connected directly to the TV as a usb stick with HDMI, but it's a device completely separate.
According to what reported by The Information, Apple is reportedly thinking of bringing to market a device similar to the Chromecast and the Amazon Fire TV Stick. Thanks to this device, Apple could win over another slice of the market and offer the same features as the Apple TV, but with a reduced price (probably without the Siri Remote). In the same way, this new device could be launched simultaneously with the new service, streaming to Apple, in which we will find new original content created by the company.
