Apple hires former executives of Broadway Video and Netflix
Apple has hired a former executive of the Broadway Video to enhance the work on the original video content that will be proposed to users in the coming months. The team arrives is also a former executive of Netflix.
As reported by Variety, Kelly Costello serve in the role of “business affairs executive,” and will interface directly with Philip Matthys, business manager for the video content to Apple. When he was at Broadway Video, Costello has held a similar role and has brought forward the arrangements for the distribution of content such as Portlandia and the Documentary Now.
Prior to his tenure at Broadway Video, Costello spent seven years at Viacom, where her roles have increased in responsibility over the years. Before leaving the company, he held the role of head of business and legal affairs for the department of music and entertainment. His resume also includes the role of director of commercial business of the network at NBC Universal Television.
Apple has also taken on Layne Eskridge , who will join the Executive team on the Creative of the company. For years, Eskridge was director of development at Netflix. As a supervisor in Netflix, Eskridge has overseen the production of TV series such as Ozark, She's Gotta Have It, Seven Seconds, Longmire Spike Lee, as well as the next Top Boy.
Eskridge and Costello are only the last of the high profile taken by Apple for its TV department, and confirms the great commitment that the company is dedicating to the creation of original content to offer on its platforms.
