Apple has officially announced of having changed the default search engine on Siri on the “Search in iOS” (the old Spotlight), going from Bing to Google.

Starting today, in the USA in the first place, and then in the rest of the world, Siri will be searched on Google, and not Bing in order to obtain a larger number of results. The news was confirmed by the same Apple:

Go to Google as the provider of web search for Siri, and Search in iOS will allow these services to have a search experience that is consistent with the default setting of Safari. We have close relationships with Google and Microsoft and we are committed to providing the best possible user experience

The results include links, images and videos. The results for the search of specific videos will be linked directly to YouTube. All the search results come directly from Google apps, which means that will be classified also on the basis of the advertisements for those certain searches.

Please note that Google has earned a lot of money thanks to the research of default on Safari, and now things could improve, thanks to Siri.
