Apple adds support for the FLAC format on the iPhone X (and not only)
Apple confirms that iOS 11 support the audio format FLAC, which will be integrated not only on iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, but also on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
In particular, the application Files, iOS 11 to allow the reproduction of the audio files FLAC: the user does not need to store FLAC audio files on Dropbox, iCloud, Box or any other accessible source Files, to be able to play on your iPhone. Apple TV 4K support this format.
FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) is an audio codec with a compression data lossless, i.e. no loss is quality, In practice, this type of compression does not remove information from the audio stream and does not undermine the quality and, thus, suitable for both listening with digital music players, whether you are storing on the mass storage, with its space-saving.
The format may not, however, be synchronized and played back in the Music app, at least for the moment.
