Alien: Covenant – Ridley Scott is back to talk about the sequel and the film of Neil Blomkamp

Published on May 10, 2017

The director of the upcoming Alien: the Covenant, the Ridley Scott, talked about the sequel to the film, spending even a few words on the failed project of Neil Blomkamp

Now we, missing very little. Tomorrow will be released in Italian cinemas Alien: Covenant (HERE our review), but, in the meantime, Ridley Scott is back to talk again in the sequel of the film and of the film, now dead, Neil Blomkamp.

Here are his words on the sequel to Covenant, given to IGN:

We are writing the sequel right now. I will get behind the camera, within the next 14 months.

While below, you can find his thoughts on Alien Awakening (the project is now deleted Blomkamp):

They wanted to do Alien, errr, Awakening, with Neill Blomkamp. I said, “good.” I would have been the manufacturer and if I could I would've done it. Except then I wondered, “What's the point having both of these Alien? One of Blomkamp and the one of Scott?”. Is how to shoot yourself in the thumb, it makes no sense. But then Fox decided not to continue down this road, and for this I have stayed.

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in Alien with the Alien: the Covenant, the second chapter of the prequel trilogy which began with Prometheus, and that will refer to the film in 1979.

Directed toward a remote planet on the edge of the galaxy, the crew of the ship the Covenant runs into a so called paradise unexplored which in fact turns out to be a dangerous world full of pitfalls. The sole inhabitant of this planet is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), sole survivor of the insolvency shipping, Prometheus.

In the cast we find Michael Fassbender wears again the role of the android David, Katherine Waterston Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Billy Crudup (Big Fish, Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen), Jussie Smollet (Empire), Amy Seimetz (You're next), Carmen Ejogo (Selma – The road to freedom), and Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills, From dusk till dawn – The series, Sin City – A woman to kill).

The film is co-signed still from Ridley Scott, while the script was edited by Jack Paglen and Michael Green.

Alien: Covenant will arrive in Italian cinemas on 11 may 2017.
