Adobe Scan: scanner PDF for documentiAdobe Systems, Inc. (0)Free

Adobe has today unveiled its new Adobe application Scan. This is a new software for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) that can scan documents and convert printed text into digital in a few seconds.

Unlike many other apps OCR on the market, Adobe Scan is completely free. Not “ruin” the user experience with a watermark and limits of the pages. It is also optimized to capture documents with more pages.

The operation of the Adobe Scan is really very simple. It is enough to frame a document, which is a note or a business card, and the app recognizes the edges of the text. Captures and cleans the image, enhances, removes shadows, and finally converts written text into digital format.

The scans are converted to the Adobe PDF format. These can be edited and shared with other users.

"Adobe Scan represents a radical re-imagination of how to capture the important content of the documents," said Bryan Lamkin, executive vice president and general manager of Adobe. "Adobe invented the PDF creations for the PC, and with Adobe Scan we are doing the same for the mobile world. As part of Adobe's Document Cloud, new applications, such as Adobe, Scan, integrate with other services such as the Adobe Sign, and Acrobat in DC, offering our users a modern experience for using the documents without the preceding".

Adobe Scan leverages Adobe technology Sensei. The scans captured with the app are stored in Adobe's Document Cloud and accessible on all devices, fixed and mobile.
