Verzon has decided to make a little bit of order in its budgets by giving verazon media to apollo global management – private equity companies – for $5 billion. To clarify, verizon media is a company that also manages, but not only, the yahoo brand (finance, mail, etc:). In total there are 900 million monthly active users attributable to the media realzon platforms.
This reduces the presence of verazon in the specific segment, a path characterized by the acquisition of aol in 2015 for 4,4 billion dollars and from that of yahoo for 4,83 billion dollars a year later. Verzon thus returns to its main activity, that of the telecommunication networks now projected towards 5g, after a 2020 that did not benefit the budgets of verizon media. In the year of the pandemic the turnover has decreased to 7 billion dollars (-5.6% on an annual basis) because of the contraction of advertising revenues determined by the health emergency.
The 2021 started better: Verzon emphasizes how at the moment verizon average has good prospects of growth after the last two quarters characterized by a strong increase in turnover.
