Apple updates the suite to iWork on iOS and macOS

Apple has updated the suite iWork for iOS and Mac, introducing the new features to Pages, Keynote and Numbers.

The app Pages also now supports the import of books from iBooks Author, which Apple has discontinued and removed from the App Store on July 1. The update also lets you play videos from YouTube and Vimeo directly in the documents:

  • Play videos from YouTube and Vimeo directly in the documents.
  • Easily add captions and titles to images, videos, shapes, and other objects.
  • Create formulas more flexible thanks to the new functions.
  • Matter a book of iBooks Author to edit it in Pages.

Even Numbers now supports playback of YouTube video and Vimeo in the spreadsheets, as well as new features that include XLOOKUP, XMATCH and REGEX for matching patterns, text manipulation and the creation of flexible forms:

  • Play videos from YouTube and Vimeo directly in the spreadsheets.
  • Easily add captions and titles to images, videos, shapes, and other objects.
  • New features, including CERCAX, CORRISPONDENZAX and REGEX, we allow you to compare schemas, manipulate text, and create flexible forms.

Keynote has a new option “Play slide show” window that allows us to access other applications during the presentation of slides in local or through video conferencing, along with some new features described in the release notes:

  • Using the new option “Play slide show in a window” to have access to other applications during a presentation live or via video-conferencing.
  • Play the movies without interruption during the transition between one slide and another. Add the same movie more slides to continue the playback from one slide to the next.
  • Using the option “Align to path” so that an object points to the correct direction as it follows a path of animation.
  • Easily add captions and titles to images, videos, shapes, and other objects.
