The app Apple TV on smart TV LG adds support of Dolby Atmos

Support Dolby Atmos for the app Apple TV arrived this week on some LG smart TVS, reports 9to5Mac. Dolby Atmos allows sounds to be positioned and moved with precision in three-dimensional space, rather than be bound to the channels.

LG declared in February that support Dolby Atmos for the app Apple TV and AirPlay 2 would come in a software update for compatible televisions by the end of the year. You have not provided more details, so we can’t confirm if this applies to all televisions LG of 2019 and 2020, or just some of them.

Users in possession of the models that will receive support for the new feature, you can enjoy movies and TV with the audio three-dimensional when displayed in the app the Apple TV and, presumably, when you’re streaming content over AirPlay 2. Dolby Atmos is also supported on Apple TV with 4K tvOS 12 or later.

Apple TV + offers most of its content with surround sound Dolby Atmos, and now users can enjoy them through their LG smart TVS. Previously, access to Atmos requires a set-top box Apple TV.
