Spotify

Spotify is officially rolling out its function of real-time text in 26 markets around the world including India, countries of south-east asia and Latin America, reports TechCrunch.

The function will provide the texts in real time in the language in which they are sung the songs. Users will access the feature by tapping on “Text” at the bottom of the screen “playing“.

Reportedly, the following Countries will receive the new feature tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. ET (16:00 hours Italian): Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Nicaragua, Panama , Paraguay, El Salvador, Uruguay, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong

The launch is taking place thanks to a new agreement with the supplier of the lyrics Musixmatch, which was also the source of the test of the texts conducted last year. Previously, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Mexico included the support of texts of other service providers.

At the moment it is not known if the new feature of text in real time will expand soon in other markets at any time, but it is hard to imagine that Spotify does not carry it in the United States and in Europe.

Apple’s Music brought the lyrics in real-time on iOS 13 last September and on macOS Catalina 10.15.4 in March of this year.
