Google Photos updates its iOS app with a more modern interface and new features.
With this update, instead of four main sections and a navigation pane, Google has streamlined the app in only three cards in the bottom bar.
Google Photo you start with the grid “Photo”, but the previews and the auto-play video are larger because the space between the various content has been reduced. Google has also updated, the carousel of memories to take advantage of the cards portrait larger, by adding more types of content. Also to this, it disappears in the tab “just For you”.
The new update also improves the search function, to allow the user to more easily find photos and video in large libraries. The feed “Sharing” has been moved to the top left corner and is visible throughout the app.
Also available the new view of the map in “Places”. Taking advantage of the data of the camera EXIF, and the History of Google, the app now shows a nice map effect and identify the images while you scroll back in time. You can then zoom in on the world to explore the photos of your trips, see where you took most of the photos in your town or find that photo somewhere during your particular trip.
Google Photos is available for free on the App Store. The update will be available for all within a few days.
