The German Football association (DFB) will not punish the demonstrations of solidarity shown in the last round of the Bundesliga by Jadon Sancho, Achraf Hakimi, Marcus Thuram and Weston McKennie against George Floyd, the african-american man killed by a policeman in the past few days in the United States.
“The committee of the agreement of the DFB wants to keep this line even in the new actions against the racism that resulted from the violent death of George Floyd in the next match”, the statement reads.
A decision that has to put all agree, even the president of the DFB Fritz Keller: “I welcomed the far-sighted decision of the audit committee of the DFB, and I am very happy. The association is strongly opposed to any form of racism and, for this reason, the actions of the players have our respect and our understanding,” said Keller.
