LineageOS 17.1 available for OnePlus 7 and Moto X 2014 @BitFeedCo.

The team of developers of LineageOS 17.1 has further expanded the availability of the custom ROM to the two smartphones that have become, over the years, very popular among the users. We are talking about OnePlus 7 (guacamoleb) and Motorola Moto X 2014 (victara). In addition to these, the ROM is based on Android 10 is also available for LeEco The Pro3/Pro3 Elite (zl1), Essential Phone PH-1 (mata) and Wileyfox Swift (crackling).

We would like to remind that LinageOS is an open source project. Although a large number of unofficial versions of LineageOS 17.1 based on Android 10 are available for months (just because anyone can download the code and modify it to suit their own needs), the development team official is approaching only now for the release of the full versions.

Installation of LineageOS 17.1

To install the ROM on your smartphone, you need the bootloader unlocked and a custom recovery such as TWRP. If you have these requirements, the step by step guide to the installation of LineageOS 17.1 can be found below:

  • Make a Nandroid backup in case of any problems (our step by step guide)
  • Download the ROM format .zip and the Google Apps format .zip
  • Restart your smartphone into recovery mode (power button plus volume up button)
  • Do the wipe of dalvik, cache, data and system
  • Flash first the ROM and then the Google Apps
  • Restart

It is good to remember that installing a Custom ROM and the previous release of the bootloader and installing a custom recovery are going to void the legal warranty of the manufacturer (on both the Sony Xperia XA2 Plus that on any other smartphone).

We must remember that the ROM LineageOS 17.1 has been made available also for versions with Exynos Socs (for those marketed in Italy) Samsung Galaxy S9 Galaxy S9+ and Galaxy Note 9.
