Apple has hired Alison Kirkham, a former employee of the BBC which is now to be added to the team Apple TV+
Alison Kirkham will be officially in the Apple by this summer under the dependencies, direct creative director of the Apple TV+ Europe Jay Hunt. The role will be very important for the supervision of the new series and movies to Apple TV+ in Europe. The Kirkham is the largest recruitment team for the Apple TV+ from 2018, when the film producer Joe Oppenheimer joined the company, and will work in the London office to oversee the series and original films in Europe.
Kirkham joined the BBC in 2005, before becoming head of the new releases from 2015. Among his most important works are definitely the stunning documentary Planet Earth II, and the Blue Planet II
At the moment we do not know which of the projects will lead the Kirkham, but it’s likely that Apple wants to focus more on documentaries.
