Samsung has announced all the details related to the range QLED TV 2020 for the european market: the first and most obvious change, compared to last year, on the expansion of the series with a resolution of 8K. You go from a single series, the Q950R 2019, three families. At the summit of the range we find the Q950TS design, Infinity Screen, followed by Q900TS and Q800T.

The Q950TS, of which we have already spoken on the occasion of the CES 2020, are characterized by a side front busy for the 99% from the screen. The frame is reduced to only 2.3 mm and is therefore almost invisible, while the thickness is only 15 mm. Also the audio section has been treated with caution. The sound is played through the 6 built-in speaker. The diagonals of the proposals are three: 65″, 75″ and 85″. Q900TS and Q800T allow us to further expand choice, from now canon the 55″ to arrive at a gargantuan 98″.

Of course, the 8K are just a few of the products that Samsung will launch in the course of the next few months. Will come in fact, even the 5-series Ultra HD: Q95T, Q90T, Q80T, Q70T and Q60T. The models in the output range from 43″ to 85″. The main functions will be common to all, 8K including. You part from the video processors Quantum Processors, 4K, or 8K TO the (the only exception is constituted by the series Q60T), improved versions that have now of the so-called “deep learning” and can provide improved algorithms for functions such as the upscaling.

Of course, not lacking support for HDR with the consolidated triptych that we find from time on the Samsung products. Are supported HDR10, HDR10+ metadata, dynamic and HLG. The functions of HDMI 2.1 supported include the ability to manage signals the resolution of 8K up to 60 Hz on Q950TS, Q900TS and Q800T. On many other models, instead, l’Auto Low Latency Mode and the Variable Refresh Rate (HERE, more information is available on the HDMI 2.1).

Level features include lots of novelties. You start with the one that probably represents a cross-cutting element in the TV market. We refer to the Adaptive Picture, a system that takes advantage of the built-in sensors to optimize the brightness and contrast in relation to the conditions of the environment. Similar functions are recurring on the news coming in the next few months for almost all brands.

It was then placed considerable attention to the reproduction of the audio. The technology Object Tracking Sound Plus (OTS+), present on the products of higher-end, analyzes the movement of some objects (such as the noise produced by a helicopter) present within the source and move the source by using the built-in speaker in the TV. It then creates a virtual surround effect which is capable of exploiting all the channels (up to 4.2.2) in order to recreate a surround sound. On the television sets of beams lower than the top it is a simplified version, the Object Tracking Sound (OTS). The difference consists in the number of channels involved (up to 2.2.2).

Those who want to make the experience even more satisfying, but without any complications from the point of view of the installation, you can take advantage of Q-the Symphony, an innovation that combines the speaker of the tv and the soundbar Samsung as Q800T, Q70T and Q60T. The synergy between the two devices creates a configuration of up to 9.1.4 channels. Samsung has finally thought of a function capable of detecting the presence of noise within the environment and intervire on the dialogues. Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) adjusts the volume level of the voices to make them more understandable and predictable in all conditions.

The platform Smart TV is always Tizen and is enriched with some additions. The screen readers supported are: at Bixby join Alexa and Google Assistant by the combination of external speakers. Multi-View enables simultaneous viewing of content taken from mobile devices while watching a television program. Users can choose from 14 different options to arrange the two windows. Tap View is, instead, designed to simplify the “mirroring” of the smartphone. A touch is sufficient to duplicate the screen of the mobile devices and show it on TV. Is finally confirmed the availability of theapplication to access the services of Disney+, coming from the 24 march in Italy, and is backward compatible also on models 4K from 2016 onwards.

Flagship of the new lineup for the Samsung 2020 is this LCD with a Quantum Dot and a resolution of 8K, 7680 x 4320 pixels, which arrives in Italy in three denominations: 65″, 75″ and 85″. The panels are fitted with backlight Full LED Array Local Dimming (for more details, please see our video-guide) and of the technology, Local Power Distribution. This new system operates with higher precision, the power supplied to each LED. Samsung claims that in this way we get an improvement in black level and also an increase in the peak brightness, in excess of about 20% compared to the range of 2019. The peak luminosity should reach about 4,000 cd/m2 – nits.

The viewing angle is enlarged thanks to the technology Q Ultra Viewing Angle. The audio section consists of the speaker that make up a configuration 4.2.2 channels. Q950TS supports the codec AV1, and you can then view the video in 8K from YouTube. All connectors are integrated on the inside of the One Connect Box, the set-top box external connected by a cable, semi-transparent, which conveys the power of the screen.

Confirm substantially all of the other features: LCD panel with Quantum Dot and a resolution of 8K,backlight Full LED Array Local Dimming and peak brightness of up to 4,000 cd/m2 – nits.

This series 8K differs from the others by way of a design a little more traditional with frames thicker. The backlight is Full LED Array Local Dimming. The planned cuts are 55″, 65″, 75″,82″ and 98″, all without the One Connect Box. Lowers, compared to the other two models 8K the peak of the maximum brightness, which does not exceed 2,000 cd/m2 – nits. The budget also includes the angle of vision.

The top of the range between the UltraHD is a LCD technology, the Quantum Dot with sizes from 55 up to 75″. The backlight is Full LED Array Local Dimming, not yet confirmed the number of control areas are independent, which could still be lower compared to the Q800T. The peak brightness is instead unaffected, and therefore always set to 2,000 cd/m2 – nits. Do not change the angle of vision widened as the templates 8K. As the Q950T, this series is equipped with One Connect Box with cable, semi-transparent, and the bracket for wall installation no-gap.

The backlight is Full LED Array Local Dimming , but with a number of controlled areas is not yet revealed.

Slightly lower in the range of 4K, we find the Q80T, LCD Tv with Quantum Dot and resolution Ultra HD, backlight Full LED Array Local Dimming , but with a number of independent zones lower than Q95T and Q90T. The series Q70T marks the change from Full LED to LED Edge technology with a Dual LED. The latter is a new feature introduced on some of the series 2020 that promises to optimize the color temperature by adjusting the backlight, so tack on a tone more cold (around 5,000 K) or warmer (2.000 K) depending on the content present on the screen.
