Apple has announced the winning photos of the contest “Night Mode, Shot on iPhone” started in January. This year, candidates had to show their skills using a iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max, submitting their best shots in night mode.
A jury selected six winners this year. The photographers and their compositions will be featured in an online gallery on Instagram of Apple, on billboards or in a photographic exhibition of third parties.
The winners were Konstantin Chalabov, Andrei Manuilov, Mitsun Soni, Ruben P. Bescos, Rustam Shagimordanov and Yu “Eric” Zhang.
You can see the winning photos in full resolution in the press release of Apple.
The jury was formed by Phil Schiller, the vice president of Apple Marketing Kaiann Drance, and renowned photographers including Malin Fezehai, Tyler Mitchell and Sarah Lee.
Apple has collected images shared on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #ShotoniPhone and #NightmodeChallenge.
Apple has provided suggestions for the use of the function Night Mode for the competition.
- The night mode activates automatically in low-light environments. If you see the yellow icon in the Night mode, you’re shooting in the Night mode.
- The night mode determines the acquisition time according to the scene and shows the seconds for the icon of night mode.
- You can tap the icon in the Night mode and set the time on Max for prolonging the time of acquisition.
