Counterpoint Research predicts that Apple will sell more than 100 million devices true wireless in 2020, while maintaining a “big advantage” on the market.
In the new report, published today, Counterpoint revealed that the market has exceeded the expectations of growth assumed for the fourth quarter of 2019, reaching 53%. The United States has been the main engine of growth in the quarter, with a share of 76% on a quarterly basis.
Excellent growth for Apple, in fact, thanks to the launch of the new model of AirPods Pro , the company from Cupertino has registered a steady growth of 44% in Q4 of 2019, with 6 million units sold despite supply problems. The market share of Apple, however, declined slightly, reaching 41% on a quarterly basis, and 47% if we consider the entire year.
Looking to the future, the analyst Liz Lee has stated that Apple will sell more than 100 million devices true wireless in 2020, including the AirPods Pro, keeping firm the first position in this market. The real battle will be for second place, especially in the premium market, where Samsung, which has sold 8 million Galaxy Buds last year, will need something more than what we expected with the upcoming Galaxy Buds Plus if he wants to mantenrre its position vis-à-vis the competition.
