Google Staff: an update for the “old” Chromecast Ultra makes it compatible Android Blog Italy.

Perhaps not everyone will know that the Founder’s Edition of Google Staff, or the kit that includes the Rod Controller, it has a Chromecast Ultra, which has a modified firmware to the factory to make it compatible with the service of game streaming. At a distance of one month after the official Google Staff, the american giant has launched the release of a firmware update for the “old” Chromecast Ultra in order to put them at par with the new and making them therefore compatible with the Google Ruler.

If you have access to Staff already, we have some good news to share. We have rolled out an update to existing Chromecast Ultras that allow them to work with Staff. Grab your Staff, Controller, sync it to any Chromecast Ultra & start playing on an additional TV in your house.

It is good to emphasize that the update of the Chromecast Ultra does not give any right of access to the Google service Staff. In fact, for the moment, it is however necessary not only to subscribe to the Ruler Pro but also buy a Rod Controller. The free version of the service will not be available until 2020.

Before leaving, we want to remember that the Google store Staff, finally is also accessible by computer through a web browser. This news came just in time to allow subscribers to view the new titles that were added both in the first part of December, in the second part.

In addition, Google has decided to give a Buddy Pass extra to those who bought the Founder’s Edition. More information can be found at this link.
