Review The Walking Dead: A New Frontier Ep. 2 – we Continue our adventure in that that, in fact, is the third season video game of The Walking Dead according to Telltale Games, but that is also a history of its own, and not just the continuation, which in many were waiting. Let's discover together the Ties That Bind – Part Two, but not before you read the review of the first part.

The concepts expressed in the following review are contained in the video to follow, with so much footage of gameplay taken from our gaming sessions on PC. The scenes are trying to reduce to a minimum the risk of spoilers. We inform you that the game is also available on PS4, Xbox One, Android and iOS.

Technical specifications PC

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40 GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4 GHz
RAM: 16384MB
Graphics card: AMD Radeon R7 265

After a first episode very short, and for which we have torn their hair, the second segment of the narrative enables us at last to admire the talent of the software house in the us, where the new characters start to take form and credibility, while Clementine is put a girl aside to give breathing space to the protagonist, for the purpose of knowing him better, how right that is.

An unexpected turn, and especially intense affects our small group, in a story that goes straight to the point, without getting lost in too many frills, supported by pleasant flashbacks that help the player understand a part of the details of the story, both the character and the background of the new personality. The trust and especially the family are the central themes on which the game focuses, putting us in front of situations that are always trying to urge them.

There is to say that the plot follows a structure from the light taste repetitive sequences – how to say – familiar to anyone who has played the predecessors. In addition, except for a few, we have not found difficulties in making the most of the choices, based on the do something against the interest, or less, of Clementine: Telltale us is hiding something? However, we appreciated the immediate effects of a part of the decisions made, what is usually rare in this type of production.

However, now, thanks to the second episode, we feel part of the survivors. The duration unfortunately, tap again for a one-hour game, yet the developers have managed to enhance the characterization of the new cast with a couple of moments really energetic, though Clementine remains the most interesting by far, in spite of the additions of this episode, among which is a character from the comics and the TV series that hopefully is not reduced to a simple pop-up in the future. Finally, the adventure ends with a nice shot of the scene, for which it is difficult to keep at bay the curiosity.

We complain, however, of the mode choices for the marketing: the first two episodes were released simultaneously, and this is a good thing, but it is clear that at the origin they were meant as a single bet, both in time and in the script. We do not know if the next will last longer, or if the third season will be the shorter one written by Telltale. Among other things, to play very little, much less than in the previous: the only advice we can give you, at the moment, is to wait for the full season before I buy it, especially if you have some doubt about it.

Review The Walking Dead: A New Frontier Ep. 2 – The second episode of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier highlights all those that are the hallmarks strongest Telltale: we have the characters finally more defined, the rhythm, and a series of events that culminate in a final in a position to close the story in the best ways, ready to open to new interesting scenarios. For now, it sure is not the season, more innovative, and more difficult choices to make, but the curiosity in seeing how it will evolve is strong simply because the premises are well-predict the continuous. Sin for the duration, still overly short, and that is not capable of giving proper weight to the interactive component.

Stay tuned to know how to continue A New Frontier with the review of the third episode, scheduled for the end of January, even if for the moment there is nothing official.
