Gunn was inspired by Mass Effect for Guardians of the Galaxy
Today's curiosity comes to us from the Twitter account of James Gunn, director of Guardians of the Galaxy and the upcoming sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (here is the first teaser trailer). Fan of the comic books, the director has never made a secret of having been inspired by various works for making the film of Marvel Studios, and now here is revealed a new source of inspiration for the filmmaker in the united states.
On his Twitter profile, in fact, Gunn has revealed to be a fan of the series Mass Effect, and having used some of its components to achieve the film released in 2014 starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel and Dave Bautista.

In addition to comics, Mass Effect (as well as Flash Gordon, Farscape, Star Wars and others) was my biggest inspiration.
Videogames, then, are increasingly regarded as points of departure from the directors, as confirmed Jon Favreau, director of Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and The Jungle Book, which for his the Lion King, which will leverage many of the technologies gaming.
